Come again another day...
Falling down from cloudy skies,
Refreshing earth which under lies.
Colours muted with filtered light,
Softened from the natural bright.
Birds sing from beneath wet leaves,
Their flight delayed, music relieves.
Butterflies hidden, lizards cower,
Under a drooped and drip-filled flower.
The air is filled with froggy song.
Calling mates to come along.
The greenest sit like emerald sphinx
With occasional slow and measured blinks.
The world is cast in hues of green,
Vegetation all washed and clean.
Wallabies appear after watery dawn,
Joey's peeking as they graze on the lawn.
Cats curl sleepily, comfort found,
Avoiding damp fur and wetted ground.
Muddy paw-prints from excited run,
A dog and rain means lots of fun.
Nature meeds this heavenly gift,
To give the land it's growing lift.
But it would be nice to see the Sun,
I'd like to get my washing done!
